The biomass pyrolysis fixed bed reactor is a device dedicated to the biomass pyrolysis process. It adopts a fixed bed structure and slowly pyrolyzes various types of biomass (such as wood chips, straw, rice husks, etc.) under anaerobic or anoxic conditions. The equipment precisely controls the temperature, pressure and reaction time to decompose the biomass during the pyrolysis process to produce three-phase products of liquid (bio-oil), gas (synthesis gas) and solid (biochar), thereby realizing the high-value utilization of waste biomass.

     


Working Principle

The core of the fixed bed reactor is a fixed reaction bed, where the biomass raw materials are uniformly loaded in the reactor with suitable particle size. Under the protection of oxygen-free or inert gas (such as nitrogen), the reactor uses electric heating, thermal oil or steam heating to heat the bed. Biomass undergoes pyrolysis under high temperature conditions, mainly undergoing the following processes:
  • Pyrolysis decomposition: The organic components in the biomass decompose under high temperature to form volatile components and solid carbon.
  • Gas-liquid separation: The generated volatile components are condensed into bio-oil through the cooling system, and some exist in the form of gas.
  • Product collection: Through a carefully designed separation system, bio-oil, syngas and biochar are separated and collected for subsequent processing and utilization.
